Here is some information about Adam Smith, Clinical Psychotherapist:
Advanced Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS CMHC), Substance Abuse Specialization (SAS), Licensed Professional Counselor, (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). Adam works with a diverse group of clientele who have experienced trauma, substance abuse, or are referred through the justice system. He also is qualified and competent to treat clients who have concerns with Trauma, Abuse, Addictions, Anger Management, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Schizophrenia, Co-Parenting, DV-Victim, Self Injurious Behaviors, Personality Disorders, LGBTQ+ and has training with the Red Cross in Psychological First Aid. Adam is a graduate of Walden University as a nontraditional student. He enjoys reading and spending time with his family and two dogs. Adam works in the main office in Stevens Point.

Jessica graduated with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from Liberty University. As a former military spouse, she is passionate about working with military veterans. Jessica works with a diverse group of clientele who have experienced trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, and parenting. Additionally, Jessica is willing to incorporate faith into sessions when asked. In her free time Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, or doing one of her many hobbies.

Here is some information about Melady Vue, Resident Therapist
Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW). Melady graduated with her MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and currently working towards her LCSW. Her approach to therapy is strengths-based and empowerment. She provides therapy to those with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, academic difficulties, and cultural/racial identity. She has experience and enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. Melady also works in our school-based office at Tri-County School. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time with family. Melady loves sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing because she sees the ever-changing sky beautiful in different ways. She believes each healing journey is on-going and life-long process.

Here is some information about Phil Grygleski, Resident Therapist:
Phil grew up in Stevens Point, graduating from Pacelli Catholic High School in 2014. During his undergraduate studies, he majored in Philosophy and Catholic Studies, graduating from the University of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts. After spending three years working at Pacelli, Phil decided to pursue his master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Mary and complete his internship at APS. Phil graduated in April 2024 and is excited to continue working at APS. Based upon conversation with clients, Phil is willing to incorporate Psychology, Philosophy, and Theology into sessions. In his free time, Phil loves to sing, play guitar, read, and go on hikes. Even more, Phil loves spending time with his beloved wife and their young son.

Here is some information about Hanna Daniels, Resident Therapist:
Hanna is an advanced practice social worker (APSW) with her master’s degree in clinical social work. Hanna’s therapeutic approach is grounded in a humanistic perspective which emphasizes each client’s capacity to reach their highest potential. She is trained in Brainspotting and is working towards her certification for clients impacted by trauma and other adverse life experiences. Hanna is hard of hearing, and thus, appreciates working with those with disabilities — visible or otherwise. She enjoys working with a variety of clientele, such as those struggling with life changes, anxiety, depression, trauma survivors, neurodivergent individuals, adolescents and young adults. Outside of work, Hanna enjoys reading, spending time outside, connecting with others, or learning something new.

Here is some information about Chris Dumke, Intern Therapist:
Chris was born and raised in Neenah, WI and now lives in Wisconsin Rapids. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. She is currently earning her master’s degree in community mental health counseling from Lakeland University and will graduate in December of 2024. As a social worker, she has extensive experience in helping adults who have some type of dementia and those who love and care for them. Witnessing the need for people to get help with their mental health in earlier stages of their lives, she decided to pursue her master’s degree in counseling. She has a strong belief in helping people become the version of themselves that they most want to be. She has interest with working with people of all ages with depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting, divorce, those who struggle with domestic abuse, substance use, women’s issues, and step/blended families. Chris is willing to incorporate faith into sessions when asked. In her free time, Chris enjoys spending time with her large family and dogs, camping, reading, any kind of crafts, spending time in nature, and kayaking.

Here is some information about Amanda Roberson, Intern Therapist:
Amanda was raised in rural Northern Wisconsin and now lives in the Central Wisconsin area. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Amanda is currently earning her master’s degree in community mental health counseling from Concordia University-Mequon and will graduate in May 2025. Amanda is willing to incorporate faith into sessions when asked or a client has expressed interest. Amanda has spent the last 20 years working with individuals who identify as having disabilities, focusing on helping them have a successful life, however that looks for them both in their personal and professional lives. Amanda wants to work with individuals dealing with their past or current hurts and traumas, this could include but not limited to anxiety, body image, depression, divorce, grief, trauma, job loss/changes or any other life events that may occur throughout a person’s life span. Amanda has a passion for working with children and those living in rural communities. Amanda is married and has three children who live at home. Her family is multicultural and has really found ways to embrace that in the Central Wisconsin area. In her free time, Amanda enjoys playing mini golf, watching sports, and being involved in church/family activities but most of all spending time doing anything with her husband and children is her absolute favorite.

Here is some information about Shannon Johnson, Intern Therapist:
Shannon is currently earning her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Wisconsin – Superior (online). She has extensive experience working with children in the educational field. She is currently a behavior technician with a local ABA treatment facility and recently served as an AmeriCorps social worker assistant in a Stevens Point elementary school. In her prior career as a soil conservationist, Shannon engaged with farmers presenting an urgent need for emotional support and she felt called to the counseling profession, where she feels at home. Shannon has experience working with clients fleeing domestic violence in a shelter setting. She finds peace in the healing powers of nature through canoeing, hiking, biking, camping and swimming and enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, children, McKenna, Reed, and Finnigan and their dogs, Bailey, Tucker and Daisy. Her approach to counseling focuses on understanding her clients’ experiences of themselves in the world and guiding their growth towards their own personal vision of success.
Shannon is interested in working with people of all ages who are struggling with feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, disappointment, depression, grief, overwhelm, frustration or anger. She welcomes clients healing from divorce, domestic abuse, substance abuse and trauma. Shannon will incorporate faith into sessions when requested.
